Snow

We wanted to go do something fun with the kids. We decided to take a drive to one of the ski resorts to play in the snow. Katelyn has her cast off her arm now and wanted to play in the snow. Adam and Ryan are just hanging out. Ryan was so bundled up, he didn't know what to do.
Katelyn was so excited to play in the snow. She said that it is so beautiful and sparkly.
All bundled up in the snow, ready to play.
Adam and the kids. They are so cute!! About a minute after we took this picture, we heard some crackling. A tree fell down right where we were. What are the odds.
Katelyn built a tiny snowman. She was so proud of herself for making on all by herself. We had fun having a snowball fight, too. Adam won, of course. I ended up with snow down my shirt, thanks to Adam. Brrr!

Ryan's 1st Birthday

Ryan turned 1 years old on November 7th. This is Ryan's Birthday cake. We had a ball theme for his first birthday.

Here is a side shot of his cake. I enjoyed making it.
Ryan is blowing out his candle, or should I say Katelyn. She helped. Ryan looked at everyone as we sang Happy Birthday to him.
He is about ready to dig in to his cup cake.
"Mmm, num"
Time for the mess. He even smeared the cake on his legs.
Ryan is opening his presents. He got a Tigger stuffed animal. He loves it. He carries it around and hugs it.
He enjoyed opening his presents with the help of all his cousins.
He got a drum filled with musical instruments. He plays with this everyday.
He loves the drumsticks.
Kevin and Chelsi gave him some cute gloves.
He opened up a few presents on his birthday in the morning. He liked tearing the tissue paper.
He got a rubber duck that goes over the faucet. He says "duck, quack, quack."
He loves his new book and car. Thanks to all who came to his party and thanks for his presents. He really loves everything and plays with everything every day.

I can't believe he is one already. It seems like just yesterday he was born. I don't know where the time has gone. He is growing up too quickly. At is one year doctor visit he weighs 22 lbs. 3 oz. and is 31 in. tall. He's a big boy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Halloween 2008

Katelyn and I made pumpkin shaped sugar cookies. She helped frost a few cookies.
Here is the finished product. Yum!
Adam carved a pumpkin with the kids. Katelyn wanted a pumpkin with googly eyes.
The pumpkin has googley eyes a carrot nose and a tongue. It is a silly pumpkin.
Katelyn was a cheerleader for Halloween. She ran around saying "Go Team!" She quickly figured out the fine art of Trick or Treating. We went Trick or Treating with her cousins. Since there were several children, she would say "Trick or Treat," get some candy, step back for everyone else to get candy and then go back to get more candy. Once I caught on to what she was doing, I stopped her from doing it. So being the creative little thing she is, she had to come up with new tactics. She then turned on the charm and smile at the bowl of candy presented to her at each door and point to all candy she liked and said, "Oh that one is my favorite." It worked and she always ended up with more than one piece of candy from each house.
Ryan was a football player for Halloween. We put Adam's rolled up socks on his shoulders for shoulder pads. He is the cutest football player.
Here he is after we painted black lines on his face.
Cheerleader and Football player.
Adam dressed up too. He was very creepy looking. I didn't like the way he looked. Katelyn and Ryan just laughed at him.
I am kissing my monster.
Here is our little monster. Katelyn wanted to try on the mask.
We bobbed for apples. Katelyn actually got one and then ate almost the entire apple.
Adam bobbed for apples too. He had to show everyone how it was done. Notice his face is all wet and dripping.

Wheeler Farm

We went to Wheeler Farm last week. Katelyn is feeding the cow some hay. She thought it was great that it would actually eat out of her hand.
She is now feeding the horse. Ryan loved the animals. He kept pointing and saying, "Wow."

Ryan up close and personal with the ducks.
Katelyn is feeding the ducks. It is always quite and experience when you feed the ducks.
Ryan and Katelyn on a saddle. "Yee Haw"
Katelyn played in the tree house.
Ryan is in a wagon. We had a great day at the farm. We went to the farm the next day with Kevin, Chelsi, and Peyton. They took some great pictures. Visit their blog to see them.

Corn Maze

We went to a corn maze and had fun wandering through it.
We had Katelyn lead the way through part of it. We had to get back on course after awhile.
Ryan and Adam lead the way through the last half of the maze.

Ryan in Trouble

Ryan is becoming very adventurous. He tries to do everything. He steps up on the stool in the bathroom and looks at himself in the mirror and tries to use the sink. He is always so proud of his accomplishments.
I stepped out of the kitchen for a minute and when I came back Ryan was standing in the dishwasher. I couldn't believe it.
We have to keep the dishwasher locked now. Although, today he tried to unlock it. It won't be long and he will have the lock figured out.

Ryan is growing up to be a little boy now and not a baby. He is walking so much faster now. He will soon be running. He is trying to climb on as many things as he can. He is talking more. His newest words are "doggy", "ghost" (we have ghost decorations for Halloween), and he barks like a dog and quacks like a duck. He gives the best hugs. He now blows kisses, too. He loves playing with balls. He his developing quite an arm. He LOVES driving cars around and makes car noises. We learned not to take cars to church for him to play with because his car noises are too loud. He is trying to hold his own with Katelyn. He can tackle her to the floor. He is super jealous now when I hold Katelyn or give Adam hugs. He pushes them away.

Fall is in the air

Not only is fall in the air weather wise, but also for Katelyn. She fell off her bike and broke her elbow. She was trying to ride faster and started to turn. She turned too much and fell off. She landed on her arm first. We spent 6 hours at the hospital. She thought it was cool to see her bones on the x-ray. She will have a cast for 4 weeks. She loves the fact that her cast is pink. Pink is her favorite color. She told me to dress her in pink today to match her cast. She is doing quite well doing things with one arm. I am surprised. She has been going to tumbling class once a week and now won't be able to go any more. Bummer! She loves her tumbling class. Good thing I took the video camera this last time.

We went to Gardner Village with Kevin, Chelsi and Peyton. Sorry I put these picture on in a crazy order.
We took the kids to a park to play. Ryan and Katelyn are going down the slide together. They had fun.
Katelyn loves climbing up this pole. She calls it the circle pole.
Adam took some pictures of us playing in the leaves.

Another picture from Gardner Village.
We took a drive up to the mountains to see the fall colors. Pictures just don't do it justice. It is beautiful.

We stopped on the drive to take a couple pictures.

Ryan loves to swing. He holds on tight and laughs.

Adam, Jennifer, Katelyn, and Ryan

Enjoy life!
